The DECT Forum
is a globally acting industry association embracing suppliers and
operators of DECT based terminals, systems, and networks. DECT stands for
“Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications” and denotes a radio
technology suited for voice data and networking applications with range
requirements up to a few 100 m. The DECT Forum represents the
interests of the DECT industry by appropriate media work, supplier
independent information to users and distribution channels, as well by
negotiating with authorities worldwide to release frequencies for DECT
products. Furthermore we promote the most recent developments such as
high-speed data, messaging, 3G integration, etc. In the area of DECT data products, which are available since a few years, the DECT Forum also issues a quality certificate confirming smooth interoperability with products of other manufacturers.
