Target Selects Kirk DECT as Preferred Cordless Solution
Retailing giant Target have selected the Kirk dect-Z 1500 as their preferred cordless telephone solution for a large number of their stores.

Target, part of the Coles Myer group, have commissioned the Kirk system to be installed in 33 retail stores and warehouses across Australia. Commencing in August, this major rollout will be completed by the end of October, ensuring staff are able to offer the highest levels of customer service by being mobile and in contact before the start of the peak Christmas season. Selection of the Kirk system follows the successful introduction of Kirk’s DECT handsets onto Target’s existing DECT cordless systems.

There were a number of reasons that Kirk DECT was selected over its competitors. Firstly, Kirk’s system connects to the various existing phone systems installed in these sites via analogue extensions, removing the need to have to unnecessarily undertake major upgrades to their phone systems. Secondly, the Kirk Z-3040 handset offers a number of key features such as headset jack and vibrating ringer as standard, making it ideal for a retail environment.  Kirk’s ability to support text messaging to the handset ensures the system can be integrated into other messaging systems such as security or fire alarms if required in the future. Finally, the ability of Wavelink Communications to supply systems Australia-wide with very short notice was also extremely important.

Target joins a growing list of organisations that have installed Kirk systems This includes Amcor, Pilkington Glass, Officeworks, Coles Supermarkets, K-Mart, Bunnings, Mayne Logistics, Health Care of Australia hospitals, Star Track Express distribution centres, Master Foods, Carlton and United Breweries, Spicers Paper, Lockwood Locks and Woolworths distribution.

Wavelink Communications specialises in the supply, marketing and support of a range of leading edge digital wireless telephone systems and associated products that provide cost effective business solutions to Australian organisations. With offices established in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, Wavelink have a local presence covering the bulk of the Australian market.  Wavelink is the exclusive Australian distributor for a range of products from Kirk telecom A/S (Denmark) and Hagenuk GmbH (Germany ).
