Arkon Technologies Recognised as Philips Semiconductors Official Design House

Arkon Technologies and Philips Semiconductors to form strategic alliance in consumer communication product development and marketing 

Arkon Technologies Inc., a total product development company and Philips Semiconductors, a division of Royal Philips Electronics (NYSE:PHG, AEX:PHI) today announced an alliance offering comprehensive 1.8GHz DECT and 2.4GHz communication products and development services.  The alliance joins two leading companies in high frequency wireless technologies with complementary offerings, capabilities and cordless market goals. 

Under the agreement, Arkon is recognized worldwide as a Philips Semiconductors Official Design House.  Using Philips Semiconductors’ integrated circuit products, Arkon will provide complete turn-key reference design licensing and development as well as technical support services for 1.8GHz and 2.4GHz wireless communication designs. The combined efforts of both companies will reduce the time-to-market and dramatically lower the barrier of entry for manufacturers. 

Philips Semiconductors’ leading technology has enabled Arkon to develop its next generation voice and data cordless telephone and communicators for the consumer market.  As a direct result of the alliance, Arkon will officially announce later this month the RadonTM 1.8GHz/2.4GHz DECT reference design and the G18TM Internet Communicator System, featuring Philips Semiconductors’ communications IC’s.  The G18TM is the first local area wireless voice and data solution for Palm® OS handheld computers.  Both products are available on an OEM and design licensing basis.
