Arkon Networks Wins Best of Innovations at CES 2002

Arkon's G24 Internet Communicator System is selected for the prestigious award in Telephony Design

Arkon Networks Inc., a total product development company, Philips Semiconductors Official Design House and the leader in DECT wireless technology solutions, has won the prestigious "Best of Innovations" at CES 2002 for its G24 Internet Communicator System, the world's first 2-in-1 multi-handset digital cordless phone and wireless modem for Palm(r) OS handheld computers. The "Best of Innovations" award honors products that are the best in design and engineering in their respective categories. Arkon has also won this award with the Parafone(tm) last year at CES 2001.

The G24 Internet Communicator System is a digital wireless communication solution for Handspring(tm) Visor(tm) handheld computers, seamlessly integrating wireless voice and data. By sliding the handset module into any model of Handspring's award winning line of handheld computers, the Visor becomes a 2.4GHz spread spectrum digital cordless phone providing crystal clear voice clarity and optimal security from eavesdropping. Intuitive software navigation through the touch screen LCD reveals direct address book dialing, call log Quickstore, 50 speed dials and 1000 call history. Advanced telephony features supported on the G24 includes caller ID on call waiting, call transfer and call conferencing.

Wireless Internet access is also enabled on the same module. Designed for broadband internet, the G24 base station connects through USB 2.0 to any internet-enabled PC or laptop with ISDN, xDSL or CMTS. The system supports up to four G24-enabled Visors with a dedicated data rate of 32 kbps per Visor, allowing users to wirelessly surf the web, check email, instant message and stream audio/video on a handheld computer. The G24 is the fusion of a PABX and a local area wireless network where users can intercom each other, transfer phone calls, wirelessly game head-to-head, browse the Internet, and communicate with instant messaging and SMS.

"We are honored to be recognized for the best telephony innovation at CES consecutively for two years," says Brian Ho, Vice President of Business Development. "The G24 is indeed the perfect manifestation of DECT technology for today's handheld computing generation."

Another breakthrough in design and technology innovation, Arkon's achievement as a winner of two consecutive years cements them as an innovation leader in telephony and local area wireless consumer technology products. The designers and engineers at Arkon (a CEA member) have built upon milestones achieved by the Parafone (www.myparafone.com) and created a product that is in a class of its own.

The G24 Internet Communicator System will be on display in Arkon's Booth (#15943 South Hall 4 LVCC), The Grand Lobby of the Las Vegas Convention Center and The Innovations Booth (#30733 Hilton Pavilion).
