Industrial DECT Handset Enhances Wavelink Offering
The addition of an IP rated industrial DECT handset provides an extra dimension to the range of wireless voice and messaging solutions offered by Wavelink Communications. The IP (International Protection) rating of the Philips LBB6709 handset is derived from the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission). The handset is rated IP52, protecting it against dust (with no harmful deposit) and against direct sprays of water up to 15 degrees from the vertical. This makes the handset ideally suited for harsh environments often found in manufacturing or areas where the handset could be exposed to water, including outdoor usage.

The handset is DECT / GAP compliant, enabling it to be used on any DECT system that supports this standard. The handset is also fully compatible with the KIRK dect-z 1500 and 500 cordless systems, including support for KIRK’s text messaging capabilities. When used in conjunction with KIRK DECT systems and third party messaging systems such as Nurse Call, security or production monitoring alarms, the handset is able to receive and display alphanumeric text messages, even when the user is on a phone call.

This makes it is ideal addition to any KIRK site, where users may mix and match KIRK and Philips handsets to suit users from office through to heavy industrial environments. The handset is light and compact, yet robust and offers a choice of wearing options.”
