Engineering Research and Development organization has an immediate need for a Sr. RF Consultant to provide immediate RF project systems and design services in support of critical project goals and completion objectives.

Job Description
This person will be responsible for determining the RF architecture, and the systems design, of a DECT based product. Individual will aid in vendor selection, vendor qualification, and in the monitoring and control of the vendor including product-engineering validation. In addition, individual will act as a consultant to other Plantronics engineers for his expertise in RF systems issues. This person will work with the senior software architect, the director of electrical engineering and others to ensure that the complete system is well thought out and engineered, and that aggressive schedules are met with solid solutions.

Qualifications
This individual must be highly experienced in RF design at both the circuit level and the system level, for DECT wireless systems. Individual must have a good understanding of RF concepts like "fading", "antenna design", "error correction", "antenna pull", "frequency hopping", "TDMA ", and RF circuit design at 1.8 GHz and 2.4 GHz.  Individual must understand the "software stack" as applied to DECT, and concepts like "echo canceling algorithms and techniques". Individual must be prepared to solve the echo-canceling problem in a non-linear environment. Individual must be familiar with the various standards applied to such products like CE certification. Individual must understand the concept of laying out PCB's to meet EMI performance.  Finally, the successful candidate must be experienced in making products for high volume production where cost control, reliability, and manufacturability are primary concerns. Candidate should hold an MSEE degree or equivalent and have substantive experience in performing the duties as described.
